Room for improvement at Banchory Primary
PUPILS at Banchory Primary School are failing to build on a good groundwork in nursery education, according to school inspectors.
The HM Inspectors of Education report praised the development of children in their early years but claimed they were "not always" fulfilling their potential further up the school.
Inspectors said that approaches to monitoring and tracking children's progress at the Tullibody school were not rigorous enough, but noted staffing difficulties disrupted improvements during the 2010/11 school year.
Inspectors called on headteacher John Harley to provide effective leadership to address these weaknesses.
